Last updated on OCTOBER 11, 2016

Applies to:

Linux x86-64

Symptoms

On Oracle Big Data Appliance(BDA) 2.5 release, CDH (secure Cluster ) in HUE 2.5.0 below potential misconfiguration errors may be seen when logged in as HUE super user(generally hdfs).

hadoop.mapred_clusters.default     Failed to contact JobTracker plugin at <bdanode>:9290.

OR

Beeswax (Hive UI)     The application won't work without a running Beeswax/HiveServer2 server and/or Hive Metastore.

These errors maybe seen after an initial mammoth install, upgrade, adding kerberos or restart of CDH services/cluster.

Other symptoms would be 'Time out' errors or/and very slow response time when accessing HUE Web UI i.e it takes a long time to log into HUE UI or perform any action in HUE UI.
