Symptoms

Various errors are seen depending what exactly is done:

ORA-24550: signal received: [si_signo=11] [si_errno=0] [si_code=1]
[si_int=1256230948] [si_ptr=0x354ae09024] [si_addr=0x1cf9df2c]
Memory fault

ORA-7445 [lxucaGetKey()+4221]

ORA-19114: XPST0003 - error during parsing the XQuery expression:
LPX-00801: XQuery syntax error at 'FROM'

but all lead to the user process failure, no entry in alert.log.

The usage of the Custom Multi-Lingual Sort [*_M Sort] in the NLSSORT function gives  "0000000000" result.

Changes

Trying to deploy or use a Custom Multi-Lingual Sort [*_M Sort]  in Oracle RDBMS 12.1.0.1 or 12.1.0.2
This is typically seen when using applications who provide their own _M sort

Note this issue is only applicable to Oracle RDBMS 12.1.0.1 or 12.1.0.2
