Symptoms

Cluster startup is extremely slow and takes a long time if more than 7 resources are added to crs with hard dependencies

Changes

When application resources are added in the following manner

crsctl add res sr.test.main -type null.type -attr "NULL_NAME=SR_TEST_MAIN"

And then when new resources are added with hard dependency on the parent resource as shown below, clusterware starts up fine until the addition of 6th resource, beyond that any addition of further resources causes the startup of the clusterware stack to be slow.

crsctl add res sr.t01.packet -type null.type -attr "NULL_NAME='SR-T01' START_DEPENDENCIES='hard(sr.test.main) pullup(sr.test.main)' STOP_DEPENDENCIES='hard(intermediate:sr.test.main)'"

crsctl add res sr.t02.packet -type null.type -attr "NULL_NAME='SR-T02' START_DEPENDENCIES='hard(sr.test.main) pullup(sr.test.main)' STOP_DEPENDENCIES='hard(intermediate:sr.test.main)'"

crsctl add res sr.t03.packet -type null.type -attr "NULL_NAME='SR-T03' START_DEPENDENCIES='hard(sr.test.main) pullup(sr.test.main)' STOP_DEPENDENCIES='hard(intermediate:sr.test.main)'"

crsctl add res sr.t04.packet -type null.type -attr "NULL_NAME='SR-T04' START_DEPENDENCIES='hard(sr.test.main) pullup(sr.test.main)' STOP_DEPENDENCIES='hard(intermediate:sr.test.main)'"

crsctl add res sr.t05.packet -type null.type -attr "NULL_NAME='SR-T05' START_DEPENDENCIES='hard(sr.test.main) pullup(sr.test.main)' STOP_DEPENDENCIES='hard(intermediate:sr.test.main)'"

crsctl add res sr.t06.packet -type null.type -attr "NULL_NAME='SR-T06' START_DEPENDENCIES='hard(sr.test.main) pullup(sr.test.main)' STOP_DEPENDENCIES='hard(intermediate:sr.test.main)'"

No problem until here.

crsctl add res sr.t07.packet -type null.type -attr "NULL_NAME='SR-T07' START_DEPENDENCIES='hard(sr.test.main) pullup(sr.test.main)' STOP_DEPENDENCIES='hard(intermediate:sr.test.main)'"

crsctl add res sr.t08.packet -type null.type -attr "NULL_NAME='SR-T08' START_DEPENDENCIES='hard(sr.test.main) pullup(sr.test.main)' STOP_DEPENDENCIES='hard(intermediate:sr.test.main)'"

crsctl add res sr.t09.packet -type null.type -attr "NULL_NAME='SR-T09' START_DEPENDENCIES='hard(sr.test.main) pullup(sr.test.main)' STOP_DEPENDENCIES='hard(intermediate:sr.test.main)'"

crsctl add res sr.t10.packet -type null.type -attr "NULL_NAME='SR-T10' START_DEPENDENCIES='hard(sr.test.main) pullup(sr.test.main)' STOP_DEPENDENCIES='hard(intermediate:sr.test.main)'"
