Oracle Restart - ASM Startup fails with PRCR-1079 (Doc ID 1904942.1)

Symptoms

Startup via crsctl fails

[root@cordemodb ~]# crsctl start resource ora.asm
CRS-2672: Attempting to start 'ora.asm' on '<HOSTNAME>'
CRS-2674: Start of 'ora.asm' on '<HOSTNAME>' failed
CRS-2679: Attempting to clean 'ora.asm' on '<HOSTNAME>'
CRS-2678: 'ora.asm' on '<HOSTNAME>' has experienced an unrecoverable failure
CRS-0267: Human intervention required to resume its availability.
CRS-5802: Unable to start the agent process
CRS-4000: Command Start failed, or completed with errors.


Startup via srvctl fails

[root@<HOSTNAME> ~]# srvctl start asm
PRCR-1079 : Failed to start resource ora.asm
CRS-2680: Clean of 'ora.asm' on '<HOSTNAME>' failed
CRS-5802: Unable to start the agent process

 

However, startup via sqlplus is successful

Incorrect ACL

# crsctl stat res ora.asm -p
NAME=ora.asm
TYPE=ora.asm.type
ACL=owner:root:rwx,pgrp:root:r-x,other::r--

...

VERSION=11.2.0.3.0
