During Upgrade of Oracle Big Data Appliance to 2.5.0 from 2.0.1/2.1 Release, Mammoth Fails to Prompt for Passwords (Doc ID 1906845.1)

During upgrade to v2.5.0 from v2.0.1/2.1 on Oracle Big Data Appliance (BDA), mammoth fails to prompt for passwords on the NoSQL removal step and later fails with below errors.

The error can occur on the first step of mammoth upgrade process which can be:

a) Removal of NoSQL (If NoSQL installed in 2.0.1/2.1)


b) Migration of Oozie (If Oozie Workflows exist in 2.0.1/2.1)


c) On the actual 'mammoth -p' upgrade step

Here is the error output when the first part of the upgrade happened to be the removal of NoSQL:

Error [24436]: (//<BDANode1>//Stage[main]/Hadoop::Setuphdfsdisks/Exec[setup_hdfs_disks]/returns) change from notrun to 0 failed: /opt/oracle/BDAMammoth/bdaconfig/tmp/ &> /opt/oracle/BDAMammoth/bdaconfig/tmp/setuphdfs_<id>.out returned 1 instead of one of [0] at /opt/oracle/BDAMammoth/puppet/modules/hadoop/manifests/setuphdfsdisks.pp:13
