Bug 8479531:: Database hang on starting up a database (Doc ID 1906957.1)

Last updated on JULY 13, 2014

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.2 [Release 11.1 to 11.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

- We can start the new database instance (sbbch1) without any issues.
- When we start the fifth application, ALL databases hang.
- During the hang, we cannot connect to SQLPLUS and issue “select * from v$database” for any database.
- When the fifth application is stopped the hanging stops and all databases can be queried again.
