Symptoms

Memory is increasing (storage creep) based on the OSDI Database service command DISPLAY MEMORY output in "MIR0513I Server memory display" at various 15 minute intervals.

The DISPLAY MEMORY command shows that 'Region Memory' minus 'Shared Memory' does not equal 'Session Memory'.

Alert for for the database on z/OS contains multiple "ORA-04030: out of process memory.." errors:

ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 3007976 bytes (pga heap, ...

Console dump of z/OS Database service started task also shows user abend U4093 (LE storage allocation failure).
Other abends that may occur are S40D-11 and S878-10. This is not an exhaustive list of all possible abends or error symptoms that may occur due to this problem.

Database version 10.2.0.5 on z/OS running with patch 17906299 - Bundle patch 6 (includes CPUJan2014, 10.2.0.5.14 PSU), and OSDI 1.2.1.7.

Output from DISPLAY MEMORY command when Session Count was 98 or highest, incorrectly shows Region Memory (1356M) minus Shared Memory (740M) does NOT equal Session Memory (297430K or 290M), but Session Memory should be 616M!
