Known Issues When asm_diskstring is Set to /dev/* (Doc ID 1921561.1)

Purpose

In 11gR2 onward, changing asm_diskstring will also change DiscoveryString in gpnp profile which CSS uses when discovering voting files.

A "bad" string may prevent CSS from starting as discover may not find the voting or take very long time.

ASM  parameter asm_diskstring should never be set to '/dev/*' as it's known to cause issues. This note lists known issues and remedies in this area.
