The rootupgrade.sh fails because the oc4j resource fails to stop

Upgrading Grid Infrastructure from 220.127.116.11 GI PSU 6 (or higher) or 18.104.22.168 to 22.214.171.124 or higher
rootupgrade.sh fails with the following error:
clscfg: EXISTING configuration version 5 detected.
clscfg: version 5 is 11g Release 2.
Successfully accumulated necessary OCR keys.
Creating OCR keys for user 'root', privgrp 'sys'..
2014/07/05 17:10:44 CLSRSC-285: Failed to perform upgrade configuration from old 11.2 install
