Information in this document applies to any platform.
Checks for root user, queries _Effective_ User ID (EUID), so will work w/sudo as well.

Goal

 To provide a brief OPatch inventory of all major (GI/CRS/ASM/DB/EM-Agent, but not Plugin) Oracle Homes on any Linux or Unix Host.

This sample code is provided for educational purposes only and not supported by Oracle Support Services.
It has been tested internally, however, and works as documented.
