Symptoms


Mammoth V4.0 "mammoth-reconfig remove em" to remove support for the Oracle Enterprise Manager system monitoring plug-in for Oracle Big Data Appliance raises fails with errors like:

**** ERROR: Cloudera Manager needs to be up to retrieve password info
**** ERROR: Cannot continue with operation

However, Cloudera Manager is up and the cluster-config.json does contain a password i.e. contains: "CM_ADMIN_PWD" : "<password>".  There is no saved params file /opt/oracle/bda/install/state/mammoth-saved.params since this is a BDA V4.0 environment.
