Running a Procedure With a DG4Sybase 12.1 Database Link Gives the Error - Sybase Network Connection Has Terminated (Doc ID 1932357.1)

After upgrading from Transparent Gateway for Sybase (TG4Sybase) 10.2 to Database Gateway for Sybase (DG4Sybase) a procedure that runs successfully using the 10.2 gateway from a 10.2 RDBMS gives the following error using the 12.1 gateway from a RDBMS -

ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02055: distributed update operation failed; rollback required
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this
[Oracle][ODBC Sybase Wire Protocol driver]Sybase Network Connection has
terminated. If a transaction was in progress it has been aborted. {08S01}
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from GATEWAY
ORA-06512: at line 60
