Recovery of a database that was created by duplicating from another database with RO tablespaces fails if the controlfile has also been restored:
RMAN-12016: using channel ORA_DISK_1
RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
RMAN-03002: failure of recover command at 07/28/2014 16:40:15
RMAN-06094: datafile 6 must be restored
Where the file# identified is the first RO datafile.
If the controlfile is NOT restored ie it is a CURRENT controlfile then recovery is successful:
Starting recover at 29-jul-14 10:35:37
using channel ORA_DISK_1
datafile 6 not processed because file is read-only
starting media recovery
Finished recover at 29-jul-14 10:35:41
