MySQL Cluster Manager (MCM) ERROR 1002: Host Unavailable And As Unknown On the List (Doc ID 1935814.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 23, 2015

Applies to:

MySQL Cluster - Version 7.3 to 7.3 [Release 7.3]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Got stuck extending MySQL Cluster site with a new host, with version "Unknown":

mcm@A> list hosts mysite;
+---------------+-----------+---------+
| Host          | Status    | Version |
+---------------+-----------+---------+
| 192.168.1.101 | Available | 1.3.1   |
| 192.168.1.102 | Available | 1.3.1   |
| 192.168.1.103 | Available | Unknown |
+---------------+-----------+---------+
3 rows in set (0.02 sec)

Unable to add packages or anything related to that new host:

mcm@A> add package -b /usr/local/cluster-mgt/cluster-7.3.2 -h 192.168.1.103;

ERROR 1002 (00MGR): Agent on host 192.168.1.103 is unavailable

Currently it is not possible to add the host, because MySQL Cluster Manager (MCM) thinks it is already there, however the third node is not connected to the cluster:

mcm@C> list sites;
Empty set (0.05 sec)

Changes

During the process of adding a new host, the connection between the PC and MCM Client was dropped:

mcm> add hosts --hosts=192.168.1.103 mysite;

# hanging in Xcom
^CQuery aborted by Ctrl+C
