ORA-15036 AFTER INCREASING DISK SIZE LARGER THAN 2TB ON OS LEVEL (Doc ID 1938175.1)

IBM AIX on POWER Systems (64-bit)

Symptoms

1] ASM disks ( LUNs ) have been resized from less than 2TB to larger than 2TB on OS level.

Example> 2,416,640M ( Larger than 2TB )

# bootinfo -s data01
2416640

2] ORA-15036 error occurs when mounting the affected diskgroup.

SQL> alter diskgroup DATA mount;
alter diskgroup DATA mount
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-15032: not all alterations performed
ORA-15036: disk '/dev/data01' is truncated
ORA-15036: disk '/dev/data02' is truncated
ORA-15036: disk '/dev/data03' is truncated
ORA-15036: disk '/dev/data04' is truncated

3] v$asm_disk.os_mb column for the affected device shows smaller than the original ASM disk size.



Changes

 ASM disk has been resized larger than 2TB
