ALTER ONLINE TABLE ... REORGANIZE PARTITION Returns Almost Immediately After Adding Data Nodes (Doc ID 1940277.1)

Symptoms

After adding new data nodes to the cluster, reorganizing the partitions:

mysql> ALTER ONLINE TABLE world.City REORGANIZE PARTITION;
Query OK, 0 rows affected, 1 warning (0.18 sec)
Records: 0  Duplicates: 0  Warnings: 1

returns almost immediately and the partitions are not reorganized.

In MySQL Cluster 7.3 and later, ALTER ONLINE TABLE ... returns a warning that 'ONLINE' is deprecated.

 

Other symptoms are:
