Error When Trying to Connect to FTP Site (Doc ID 1940528.1)

Symptoms

On : 11.2.0.3 version, Database Security

When attempting to connect to ftp using ftp.get the following error occurs:

ERROR

ORA-29260: network error: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist



STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:


1.

sqlplus / as sysdba


2.

DECLARE
  l_conn UTL_TCP.connection;
BEGIN
  l_conn := ftp.login('ctghome.com', '21(ftp_port)', 'ftp_username', 'ftp_pwd');
  ftp.ascii(p_conn => l_conn);
  ftp.get(p_conn => l_conn,
  p_from_file => '/data/admin/dba/oracle/smart_pipeline',
  p_to_dir => 'SMART_PIPELINE',
  p_to_file => 'test_get.txt');
  ftp.logout(l_conn);
END;
/
