How to Create .mylogin.cnf On a Host Without MySQL Server Installed?; mysql_config_editor (Doc ID 1941576.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

MySQL Server - Version 5.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The utility mysql_config_editor that is used to edit the .mylogin.cnf file is distributed with MySQL Server (and MySQL Cluster as it also includes MySQL Server). This document will discuss the options available to create the .mylogin.cnf file storing the connection options used with login paths.
