Adding Standalone Database to Cluster Resource, Error ORA-00205, O/S-Error: (OS 5) Access is denied. (Doc ID 1941956.1)

Symptoms

Configurations:

o Microsoft Windows 2012
o Oracle database 12.1.0.1
o Failsafe 4.1.0.1

o Issue is when adding a standalone database to the resource group, up to the stage of moving the database to the other node, instance is created.

    It failed with his error, and the operation rollback.

 

ORA-00205: error in identifying control file, check alert log for more info

Changes

o This is a fresh install of Oracle 12c database and failsafe.

o The owner of the Oracle softwares are owned by a local user - "homeowner"

o User for the failsafe operation is domain user, for example, "\example\cluseruser"

o Softwares are installed in local drive X:

   The shared disks for the database is drives: F: and G:, database pfile is located on F:

o Validation cluster is fine

o VAlidation of standalone database is fine
