Shared Database Link Failing With ORA-00022 and ORA-02063 After Database Upgrade. (Doc ID 1951983.1)

Symptoms

Database link stops working after upgrading the database to at least 11.2.0.4, either local, remote or both.

Database alert log file shows following errors when using the database link:

Tue Nov 04 10:06:16 2014
Error 22 trapped in 2PC on transaction 44.11.158430. Cleaning up.
Error stack returned to user:
ORA-00022: invalid session ID; access denied
ORA-02063: preceding line from TEST

 It may possible to see error ORA-02048: "attempt to begin distributed transaction without logging on" as well.

 

Changes

Using shared database link and one of the involved databases get upgraded.
