How to Delete Unwanted Incremental Partition Statistics Synopsis Information From WRI$_OPTSTAT_SYNOPSIS$ in the SYSAUX Tablespace (Doc ID 1953961.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When incremental partition statistics are enabled, the synopsis information that is stored in WRI$_OPTSTAT_SYNOPSIS$ in the SYSAUX tablespace can get quite large.  This is absolutely normal.  If you no longer wish to use incremental statistics, then the following steps will remove the synopsis information from the SYSAUX tablespace.

 For Earlier versions:
 1) Identify the partition table for which you no longer wish to use incremental statistics
 2) Disable Incremental statistics for the table or tables you no longer wish to use incremental statistics for
 3) Delete statistics from the table/s that you wish to remove synopsis from
 4) Re-gather statistics
