Symptoms

The following error is seen in the alert log file during database startup.

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [hshget1()+203] [SIGSEGV] [ADDR:0x18] [PC:0x955A7A7] [Address not mapped to object] []

The current sql in related trace file is a compile statement, eg:



Changes

Application tables have been changed.

UTLRP.SQL was run to validate all the objects.

During this step, servers were rebooted due to some network maintenance activity.

After the server was restarted, the database was not starting and was reporting the ORA-07445 error above.
