Unable To Start Oracle Scheduler Agent. Start Command Hangs. (Doc ID 1964073.1)

One server "A" that hosts a database, has a schema that submits jobs externally to another reports server "B" .

When trying to start remote scheduler agent on server "B" it hangs.

Even though the scheduler agent is down, reports are still getting submitted.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

$ /u01/app/oracle/Client/
Agent not running or file removed

$ /u01/app/oracle/Client/
>> hangs
At this point , had to kill the process with ctrl+c

The server on which the scheduler agent is running has been restarted, but it didn't solve the issue.

Have tried to de-register agent and re-register using:

> schagent -unregisterdatabase databaseHost databasePort
> schagent -registerdatabase databaseHost databasePort

but this didn't solve the issue.


This setup was working fine until the scheduler was stopped and tried to restart it to do a data refresh and as part of it, had to stop the scheduler, register the agent by providing the hostname and port of the refreshed database and start the agent.
