Exadata: High iostat %util Noticed in Patrol Read Time if Hot Spare is Configured (Doc ID 1967400.1)

Symptoms

When scheduled "Consistency Check" started from Raid Contoller, and hot spare disk is configured on the Compute Node, the disk IO may hang up a few seconds.

I/O load on database node shows high during Patrol Read "Consitency Check" as follows:

- megacli64-FwTermLog.out
06/14/14 12:00:00: 39=Patrol Read started
06/14/14 12:00:00: 66=Consistency Check started on VD 00/0
06/14/14 12:00:00: 331=Power state change on PD 08(e0xfc/s3) ..

iostat shows:
