Namenode checkpoint intermittently not being able to complete. The following error is raised:

The filesystem checkpoint is X hour(s), XX minute(s) old. This is XXX% of the configured checkpoint period of 1 hour(s). Critical threshold: XXX%. XX,XXX transactions have occurred since the last filesystem checkpoint. This is XXX% of the configured checkpoint transaction target of 20,000
