Connecting To A PDB Database Fails With ORA-00600 [kpdbAttachSga: bad pdb] (Doc ID 1982064.1)

When connecting from sqlplus to a Pluggable database (PDB) using the PDB's Net Service Name, for example:

sqlplus <username>/<password>@<NET Service Name>


sqlplus sys/<sys password>@<NET Service Name> as sysdba

the following error is reported:

ORA-03135: connection lost contact
Process ID: 0
Session ID: 0 Serial number: 0

and in the alert log file:

ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kpdbAttachSga: bad pdb], [0],[<NET Service Name>], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], []


The call stack in the trace file written by the ORA-600 error includes the following functions:

 kpdbAttachSga <- opiino <- opiodr <- opidrv <- sou2o
