BDA Server Reimage Raises: ERROR: "Import failed. A previous attempt to import BIOS configuration is pending." (Doc ID 1989530.1)

Symptoms

Reimaging a server raises:

ERROR: Import failed.  A previous attempt to import BIOS configuration is pending.
Set BIOS boot order . Return code : 90


Additionally the output states:

Setting BIOS boot order failed. Please rerun reset-boot-order.



But the output ends indicating success with:

Installed Oracle Big Data Appliance Installer to sdm

Please reboot to start the re-imaging process

For example:

# ./makebdaimage -usbint BDABaseImage-ol6-4.1.0_RELEASE.iso /opt/oracle/bda/network.json 5
  
.....
ERROR: Import failed.  A previous attempt to import BIOS configuration is pending.
Set BIOS boot order . Return code : 90
Preparing to restore XML file to BIOS...
Done preparing to restore settings in /tmp/makebdaimage_ubiosboot to BIOS.
Restoring BIOS configuration (allow several minutes)..........Done.
ERROR: Import failed.  A previous attempt to import BIOS configuration is pending.
Set BIOS boot order . Return code : 90
Preparing to restore XML file to BIOS...
Done preparing to restore settings in /tmp/makebdaimage_ubiosboot to BIOS.
Restoring BIOS configuration (allow several minutes)..........Done.

Running 'reset-boot-order'as per the message also fails with:

# reset-boot-order
  
reset-boot-order
Set Boot Device to none

Cleared ILOM boot override - Boot device: none

Found BDA X3 or X4 Hardware - setting boot order using ubiosconfig
Wrote backup of BIOS configuration to '/tmp/ubiosboot-original'.
Get BIOS config. Return code : 0

Found USB device name : USB:USBIN:ORACLE UNIGEN-UFD PMAP

Preparing to restore XML file to BIOS...
Done preparing to restore settings in /tmp/makebdaimage_ubiosboot to BIOS.
Restoring BIOS configuration (allow several minutes).......................................................Done.
ERROR: Import failed.  A previous attempt to import BIOS configuration is pending.
