Purpose
Using Oracle Net with SQLDeveloper is not as simple as selecting a "TNS" connection type when creating a connection. When a failure from SQLDeveloper occurs, Oracle Net support needs to determine if the Oracle Net product is the source of the problem. The document explains how to properly use Oracle Net withing SQLDeveloper and how to trace Oracle Net connections
