ORA-07445 [gsignal()+53] While Using Shared Server with Dead Connection Detection (Doc ID 1998589.1)

Symptoms

The following error is reported in the database alert.log:

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [gsignal()+53] [SIGIOT] [ADDR:0x26F00006E06] [PC:0x3DAF42FFC5] [unknown code] []


The alert log also shows messages like 'dead shared server..', e.g.:

Process 0x0x1a612e27c8 appears to be hung while dumping

Attempting to kill process 0x0x1a612e27c8 with OS pid = 24628
OSD kill succeeded for process 0x1a612e27c8

The call stack from the shared server incident trace file written by the error includes the following functions:
