ORA-07445 with arguments [ssexhd_slrac_check()+32] [SIGBUS] [Invalid address alignment] logged in alert log (Doc ID 2001500.1)

ORACLE_HOME was upgraded and the binaries were relinked with the Data Protector binaries on the system to take tape backups.

Symptoms

RMAN backup fails with the below set of errors:

RMAN-06005: connected to target database: <DBNAME> (DBID=<DBID Number>)

RMAN-06008: connected to recovery catalog database


RMAN-08205: datafile changes, starting full resync of recovery catalog
RMAN-08236: 1 datafile resized
RMAN-08004: full resync complete
PSDRPC returns significant error 3113.
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-03009: failure of allocate command on dev_0 channel at 04/02/2015 11:47:02
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

and does not continue with the rest of the backup commands in the run block.

At the same time the following error is generated in the alert log:

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [ssexhd_slrac_check()+32] [SIGBUS] [ADDR:0x39] [PC:0x400000000EF40D20] [Invalid address alignment] []



 

Changes

 ORACLE_HOME was upgraded and the binaries were relinked with the Data Protector binaries on the system to take tape backups.
