How To Get Information on Application / Users in a RAC Environment?

Information in this document applies to any platform.


To explain how to get information information on user, terminal, program when running in a RAC environment.  When running in a RAC environment querying the v$instance or v$process table will only show you for the node / instance from which you are querying and not for the entire RAC environment.

To query across clustered instances / RAC nodes the GV$ (global) views should be used.
