ORA-2266 when Dropping Parent Partition of a Reference Partitioned Table (Doc ID 2008493.1)

Symptoms

 You try to drop a partiton from the parent table of a partition-referenced child table and get an ORA-2266: unique/primary keys in table referenced by enabled foreign keys.    The partition drop is successful if the partition is empty.

 

Note: Under the partitioning conditions described in this note, you could also receive an ORA-14099: all rows in table do not qualify for specified partition when doing exchange partition on the parent table.
