Symptoms
- Start the observer using dgmgrl:
DGMGRL> start observer;
Authentication failed.
DGM-16979: Unable to log on to the primary or standby database as SYSDBA
- Sample OBSERVER log:
Authentication failed.
DGM-16979: Unable to log on to the primary or standby database as SYSDBA
Failed to start the Observer.
- Sample OBSERVER DEBUG log:
Failed to start the Observer.
Could not verify magic words.
Opened configuration file <filename> successfully.
<DO_CONFIGURE_DRC version="11.2"><GET_FSFO /></DO_CONFIGURE_DRC> not logged on # Clearly indicates a login issue
