NI: XOQ-00703: Error Executing OLAP DML Command "(AW ATTACH GLOBAL RO : ORA-33262: Analytic workspace SCOTT.GLOBAL does not exist) (Doc ID 2041163.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 12, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle OLAP - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

You had a working system based on Oracle Database with OLAP option on 10g version. After upgrading from 10g to 11g , you are no longer able to access AW objects owned by another user.

The only user able to query cubes in the AW is the AW owner. You have an 11g database but the AWs are Cube Type: OLAP 10g .

You have 2 users: global and scott.  Gloabl AW is owned by user global. You grant  select on aw$global to scott.

GRANT SELECT ON aw$global TO scott;

GRANT SELECT ON product TO scott; >>> where product is a dimension.

Errors with:

SQL Error: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

Note: While it is necessary to grant object lever (dimesnions, cubes etc) security in 11g, if your AW is 10g cube type, then this is not needed. YOu only need to grant security at the AW level but even after that, Scott is still not able to view any data in the global AW owned by global. In AWM data viewer, or Discoverer for olap, you get this error:

INI: XOQ-00703: error executing OLAP DML command "(AW ATTACH GLOBAL RO : ORA-33262: Analytic workspace SCOTT.GLOBAL does not exist.

Note: In the error message above, Oracle is looking for the AW in schema scott and not global.

 Upgrade from 10G to 11G and AWs still in 10G format.
