The Hadoop ecosystem (including Apache Spark), underlying Linux and Java infrastructure, the workloads on these systems and the hardware for these systems are rapidly evolving. This note explains how the services layout of Oracle Big Data Appliance (BDA), designed and tested by Oracle Development with Cloudera Development, makes use of the latest hardware and software innovations.  The general concept applies to all BDA versions and associated CDH versions.
