Goal

The goal of this document is to get the historical information about the sessions connected in past in Oracle Database Standard Edition. While the best solution to looking at comprehensive historical session information is to use the Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) and Active Session History (ASH) since these are Enterprise Edition Features (requiring a diagnostic pack license), these are unavailable in standard edition. So historical data from AWR is not be available. The alternatives presented in this document are significantly less detailed than that provided by AWR/ASH but could provide some useful information in some circumstances.
