Last updated on JANUARY 08, 2025

Applies to:

Gen 1 Exadata Cloud at Customer (Oracle Exadata Database Cloud Machine) - Version N/A and later

The Grid Infrastructure on Windows will dynamically start a number of processes which will vary over time and activity level on the nodes of a cluster. Each of these processes requires some desktop heap and the default settings for this may be too low for a RAC cluster.

Oracle Support recommends that 2Mb of desktop heap be set aside on every node of all RAC on Windows Clusters.

Purpose

To provide a recommendation (2Mb) for the desktop heap setting for all RAC on Windows environments.

Scope

Every node of all RAC on Windows clusters.
