Hue Misconfiguration Error - " Impala Editor No available Impalad to send queries to" (Doc ID 2064881.1)

Symptoms

In the Hue WebUI, when logging in as a Hue superuser, the following configuration check failure is listed:

Potential misconfiguration detected. Fix and restart Hue. Impala Editor No available Impalad to send queries to

The Impala App does not show databases either.

In the runcpserver.log, at the time of the configuration check failure, this exception is present:

[09/Oct/2015 13:07:00 -0400] thrift_util INFO Thrift exception; retrying: Could not start SASL: Error in sasl_clien t_start (-1) SASL(-1): generic failure: GSSAPI Error: Unspecified GSS failure. Minor code may provide more information (Server impala/<CLUSTER_NAME><HOSTNAME4>.<DOMAIN>@<REALM>not found in Kerberos database)
