Last updated on FEBRUARY 14, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Database Exadata Cloud Machine - Version N/A and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Database Service - Version N/A and later

When patching ACFS drivers (this includes GI PSU Patches) on Linux 6 and above, a filesystem full condition is possible within the /boot filesystem should the filesystem be constrained on space.  Other symptoms include excessive time spent in the root scripts ( call to "acfsroot install".

> ' | /sbin/weak-modules --add-modules 2.6.32-504.16.2.el6.x86_64 2>&1 |' returned unexpected output that may be important for system configuration:
> gzip: stdout: No space left on device
> E: dracut: creation of /boot/initramfs-2.6.32-504.3.3.el6.x86_64.tmp failed
> gzip: /boot/initramfs-2.6.32-504.3.3.el6.x86_64.tmp: unexpected end of file
