Reimaging Is Not Assigning IP Addresses to Factory or Customer Settings On Oracle Big Data Appliance (BDA) Cluster (Doc ID 2072676.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 01, 2023

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.1.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Trying to reimage an Oracle Big Data Appliance (BDA) Cluster. The reimaging process always succeeds, but unable to get either the factory or the customer IP addresses assigned to the nodes. Have tried using all methods provided by DOC ID 1962977.1 to do that however the machine always comes up with hostname set to localhost.local domain, and with no IP addresses assigned to any given interface.

Have found also from the logs that its seems like the script /opt/oracle/bda/network/BdaNodeNrFromIb is failing without giving any output which is the reason for all other scripts that depends on it to assign the machine with required IP addresses. The script /opt/oracle/bda/network/BdaNodeNrFromIb is not getting any output returned from it, but it is always exiting with exit status 1, and never exits with 0.
