Logical Standby fails with ORA-01722: Invalid Number (Doc ID 2082298.1)

Symptoms

Logical Standby database returns ORA-01722 in alert.log

 

The Standby alert.log shows:

  Thu Nov 12 10:31:10 2015

  Errors in file /<path>/diag/rdbms/<db_name>/<oracle_sid>/trace/<oracle_sid>_lsp0_<pid>.trc:

  ORA-26808: Apply process AS01 died unexpectedly.

  ORA-01722: invalid number

 

 

The corresponding Trace file shows something similar to:
