Goal

This note provides steps for migrating (moving) the Hive Metastore from one cluster to another. You can try the steps when moving the Hive Metastore from an unsecure BDA cluster to a secure BDA cluster You can also use the steps when moving the Hive Metastore from an unsecure cluster to a new secure Big Data Cloud cluster. For example use the steps to move the Hive Metastore from an unsecure BDA BDA V4.1/CDH 5.3 cluster to a new secure BDA V4.2.1/CDH 5.4.5 Big Data Cloud cluster.
