Symptoms

Consider:

Archivelog backups are not considered as obsolete if there is no controlfile backup available in the recovery window period.  If no controlfile backup is available, only the level 0 and level 1 incremental backups are considered obsolete and will be deleted by "DELETE OBSOLETE".
