NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS attribute of a PL/SQL procedure or function may be changed unexpectedly when exporting and importing between databases with different NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS parameter using data pump.
Following symptoms can be observed.
- During impdp, PL/SQL FUNCTIONS and PROCEDURES are created with NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS configuration of the imported source database.
- If the imported object contains a user defined TYPE object, then the TYPE object and PROCEDURES and FUNCTIONS are created with NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS configuration of the TYPE object.
