Datapump import of tables from 10g (10.2.0.4) into a 12c database (12.1.0.2) reports ORA-28344: "fails to decrypt data" for tables with encrypted columns, e.g.:

. . imported "USER"."TABLENAME" 3.161 MB 3773 out of 3774 rows >> some of the rows might not get imported due to this error
1 row(s) were rejected with the following error:
ORA-28344: fails to decrypt data


The DDL of the table shows that the column is encrypted as below:


The encryption wallet is open in both source and destination and no issues are found related to security or wallets.
