RMAN Backups Failing Since Upgrade To ORA-27211: Failed To Load Media Management Library (Doc ID 2109222.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Because of the failure to load media library error, EMC directed us to copy ORASBT.DLL from C:\Program Files\Legato\NSR\bin to C:\Windows\System32 so it would be “found” by oracle –

Though it was already in the path anyway. Once we did that and reran the following it crashed the database:

run {
allocate channel t1 type sbt parms 'SBT_LIBRARY=C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\BIN\orasbt.dll';
release channel t1;
