Auxiliary Instance Cleanup Removes export dumpfile During Rman Transport Tablespace option (Doc ID 2120183.1)

Last updated on MARCH 24, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 12.1.0.1 to 12.1.0.2 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

 After the succesful completion of an RMAN transport tablespace command the  auxiliary instance cleanup removes the expdp dumpfile required for use when
 importing the transportable tablespaces.

Script used

run {
Set newname for datafile '/test/backup/shy.dbf' to '/test/backup/test/shy1.dbf' ;
set auxiliary instance parameter file to '/test/backup/auxil/auxil.ora';
transport tablespace Users_data
datapump directory BACKUP_LOC
dump file 'iptool.dmp'
import script
'/test/backup/test/myimportscript.sql'
TABLESPACE DESTINATION '/test/backup/test'
auxiliary destination '/test/backup/auxil'
until sequence 7 ; }

 TABLESPACE DESTINATION '/test/backup/test'

This is the destination where import script and read only tablespace copy would be stored. The export dump file required for transportable set would also get created here because datapump directory BACKUP_LOC points to same location.

Rman log would show

Automatic instance removed

.

.

deleted
auxiliary instance file iptool.dmp deleted  ====> Export dump file deleted.
