Steps to Upgrade Key Trustee Servers that are Off the BDA Deployed as Cloudera Manager Parcels (Doc ID 2122180.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 25, 2019

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.4.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Purpose

The document provides details on how to upgrade Key Trustee Servers (Active/Passive) Managed by Cloudera Manager using Parcels.

The document is based on an example upgrade of Key Trustee Servers (Active/Passive) Managed by Cloudera Manager using Parcels from CDH 5.4.* to CDH 5.5.*.

The KTS server upgrade steps need to be followed once the BDA has been upgraded to a new CDH release.  The same steps apply for a BDA release version even if a certified CDH upgrade has been performed.

For example the KTS server upgrade steps need to be followed once the BDA has been upgraded to 4.4 with CDH 5.5.* release. The same steps apply for BDA 4.4 with either 5.5.1-1.cdh5.5.1.p1168.923 or CDH 5.5.2-1.cdh5.5.2.p0.4 parcels.

Scope

Big Data Appliance Administrators and ACS.
