ORA-01017 When Creating Database Connections With User Name in Danish Characters. (Doc ID 2140458.1)

Symptoms

The database connection fails from .NET application to Oracle database  from Managed ODP.NET driver 12.1.0.2.4 when the database user ID is created in Danish-Denmark characters.

The error message is shown below: 

 

This error is observed only with Managed ODP.NET 12.1.0.2 driver against 11g database. The error is not reproducible with Unmanaged ODP.NET driver.

Changes

 Upgraded the Oracle client to 12.1.0.2
