ORDIMLIBS and DBMS_SUMADV_LIB libraries use hard-coded Oracle Home path (Doc ID 2145739.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 04, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 10.1.0.2 to 12.1.0.2 [Release 10.1 to 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

 This issue has been reported when performed out of place patching.

1) Cloned oracle_home from home1 to home2

2) Applied required interim patches

3) Switched database from old home1 to home2. Since the new home only contains interim patches, there is no requirement to run any catalog scripts.

4) Query dba_libraries as shown below. The libraries continue to refer old home

EXAMPLE:-

OLD HOME - /u01/app/oracle/product/old_home

NEW HOME - /u01/app/oracle/product/new_home

SQL>select library_name,file_spec from dba_libraries where file_spec is not null;

LIBRARY_NAME FILE_SPEC
------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
DBMS_SUMADV_LIB /u01/app/oracle/product/old_home/lib/libqsmashr.so

ORDIMLIBS /u01/app/oracle/product/old_home/lib/libordim12.so
